NOT YOUR TYPICAL REALTOR – NOT YOUR TYPICAL REAL ESTATE BIO!
Let’s be honest. Biographies of realtors are like cardboard — stiff, bland, and identical to every other bio out there. Instead of boasting ad nauseum about awards and accomplishments you’re not interested in, I’m taking the novel approach of actually giving you what you want — real answers to questions you’re probably wondering right now. I’ll boast at the end, if you are still reading this at that point!
Will you return my calls and emails?
Yes. Without question.
I realize this is one of the major frustrations people have with dealing with real estate brokers. I get dozens of calls, texts, and emails daily, and I work hard to reply as quickly as possible. It is not uncommon for me to respond to emails and text messages late into the evening.
Some realtors are jerks. Are you?
Depends on who you ask. If you ask certain agents who have stood between my clients and
their real estate goals, they may say "yes". A handful of people think I can walk on water. (I can’t.) Those are the two extremes, and most people's opinion falls somewhere in the middle.
Here's what I can tell you:
I'm honest and candid, maybe sometimes to a fault. I would much rather have a professional who tells me the brutal truth than someone who just tells me what they think I want to hear. I will treat you the same way. I take pride in being approachable and friendly, which is why I became a real estate broker rather than continue to practice law. (Sorry attorneys, but “approachable and friendly” are not terms commonly used to describe that profession!) My door is always open and I believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Lastly, it drives me crazy when clients say “I hate to bother you, but…” You are never bothering me! This is what I do for a living. This is how I provide for my family. I want to provide the best experience you have ever had buying or selling real estate, because if I accomplish that, you will probably tell other people about me.
Are you one of those pushy realtors who only cares about making a commission?
No. I have actually gained clients who met me at an open house and decided to stop working with another realtor because they liked my “non-pushy” style better. I tell buyer clients all of the time that they will know instinctively when they have found the house they want. A realtor cannot talk someone into liking a house. I have worked with many buyers who tried to convince themselves that into liking a property, when in reality, they didn’t love it, or it didn’t fit their needs. I jokingly (kind of) told some clients that I forbid them from making an offer on a property that I knew was not the right one. When we finally found a great property that they loved, they thanked me for not “allowing” them to make an offer on the other property.
What do past clients think about you?
Don’t take it from me – go to one or all of the places below to read what others have said. I can’t pick and choose which reviews I want posted. I ask for reviews and hope they turn out well. Every review in every site below is from a real client. This may surprise you, but there are companies that offer to flood our sites with glowing reviews, all of which are fake. I would never do that, and I hope those companies, and the realtors who use them, get what they deserve.

Do you have experience doing exactly what I need?
I have been helping people buy and sell all kinds of real estate ranging from a few thousand dollars to a few million dollars. Prior to being a real estate broker, I was a real estate attorney for a large title insurance company in Indiana. I helped realtors, lenders, and even other attorneys resolve real estate issues and get the deal done. I don’t know yet exactly what you need, but I bet I have done it before, maybe many times.
What would you consider to be your strengths professionally?
● Listening. Unfortunately, it seems to be a lost art these days. God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason.
● Communicating. I am constantly striving to answer my clients’ questions before they ask them. I also think I am pretty good at explaining sometimes complex issues in an understandable way. I want to be able to provide not only the answer, but also an explanation.
● Problem-solving. My father used to always say, “There’s more than one way to skin a cat.” (Sorry feline-lovers – I’ve never actually done that!) It is common for snags to occur in real estate transactions. Good realtors find solutions. I believe strongly that where there’s a will, there’s a way.
● Staying calm. Emotions tend to run high in real estate transactions. It’s important to be the calm in the storm. Am I always calm, cool, and collected? No, just ask my four children! However, I don’t get worked up very easily, unless someone is trying to take advantage of my client.
What are you the most proud of?
Our four children. My wife and I have worked hard to teach them the importance of faith, family, and respect for others. They never cease to amaze me. If you want a realtor who will drop whatever they are doing, including their children’s functions, to show you a house or list your house, then I’m not the realtor for you. I will work night and day for you, just not during the times my roles as a husband and father take a higher priority.
Okay, I think I have a pretty good idea of your personality. Have you had much success in real estate.
Here are my awards and accomplishments. You be the judge. I would love the opportunity to work with you.
