Cherona Hajewski

What do nursing and real estate have in common?  A focus on relationships with an eye for analyzing and solving problems.  Cherona Hajewski  recently retired from a 45-year career in nursing in which her responsibilities grew from direct patient care to serving as Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive for Deaconess Health Systems.  Whether serving patients, managing nursing staff, or relating to doctors and other administrators, relationships were always central to Cherona’s nursing career as she aspired to understanding the needs of those around her and finding the best ways to meet those needs. However, she has had a long standing passion for real estate, and her life experiences have perfectly prepared her to confidently serve her clients in finding the perfect place to call home.

Our homes are central to our daily life. As we seek to advance our careers, settle into relationships, and find resonant spaces in which we feel the most comfortable, the goal of home ownership is a high priority.  Having lived in many different homes in various locations, Cherona’s home, regardless of which city or state she was living in, has always been very important to her. Along with her husband Tom, Cherona has built three of their five different homes, which has provided her with invaluable experience with the home building process, and she is excited to share her practical knowledge with clients interested in creating a home from scratch.  Likewise, her numerous moves make her very empathetic to the complicated logistics and emotions involved in both the home selling and buying process.

Originally from Wisconsin, Cherona has lived in Evansville since 2007, and considers it her home. After graduating from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s and master’s in nursing, she got married and then worked in hospitals in Milwaukee and Madison for 18 years.  She and her husband moved to Indiana in 1992, before relocating to Evansville when she joined Deaconess Health System. Cherona loves Evansville:  daily life is convenient, the region is filled with delightful neighborhoods, and the community  welcomes everyone.  Cherona’s goal is to help you find that special place that feels like the perfect home!

Cindy Howard made me feel like I was the most important client in her life. She responded to calls immediately, followed up on everything I had questions about, and thought three steps ahead to tell me what I could expect and how I could prepare. She was friendly and upbeat every time. She was a better realtor than I could ever hope for.
